Welcome to the Hawaii County Radio Control Club!
We are the radio control aviation club on the east side of the Big Island of Hawaii.
Our airfield is private, and is located near Hilo, just outside of Keaau Hawaii.
We fly electric, glow and gas R/C airplanes and helicopters. Our field is built on the site of an old radar station. We built our airstrip ourselves, clearing jungle, dozing, laying down cinder and grass. It’s a work in progress that certainly doesn’t lack character. Our field still has a ways to go before it’s finished but that’s part of the fun. Landings are always exciting, and most often happy.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Airfield is Private, No public Access
Our field is about a mile up the hill from the locked gate on the highway.
On Sundays, generally, we will leave the gate open for drop in visitors.
